Chateau des Peres, house of the
‘fathers’, was
originally built for monks (hence the name ‘Peres’) in the Sixteenth
Century. The house is set in 25 acres being the remaining
part of the
original estate, Domaine de la Tauge, which surrounds the small River
Tauge.
The Chateau is found near the small village of St
Etienne de Tulmont (3 mins by car) in the South West of
France in the Department de Tarn-et-Garonne.
The Property is 40 minutes north of Toulouse.
Although St Etienne has all the essentials (pharmacy, bakers, co-op) Montauban
is our local shopping centre being no more than 15 minutes to the
centre. Montauban has excellent shopping facilities, a good
open
market on a Saturday morning and a comprehensive array of places to
eat. There are also two extensive supermarkets (Auchan
and E.Leclerc) which are 10 mins from the
Chateau.
